Homily
We thank you Blessed Virgin Mary for
accepting to become Mother of the Son of God and our Savior. Despite of your age (very young at age 15)
and inexperience (you just came out from the Temple and new in your community),
you took the responsibility of rearing and leading the Son of God to his
destiny, for it was told to you by the angel what will be your Son in the
future, and the good news brought by the shepherds who visited you and your son
in the manger and shared by what they saw and heard from the angel, and
therefore everything was kept in your heart. “And Mary kept all these things, reflecting on them in her heart”
(Lk. 2:19).
You are truly Moher of God, for you
obeyed what was told you by an angel of God and did it diligently and lovingly. You are blessed among women for God the
Father has rightly chosen you to become His Son’s mother. Mary’s motherhood is different from all
mothers. She has to take care the Son of
God.
Mother Mary is very special mother for
she is mother of all, our mother.
Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners
now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
